An estimated 20 million Filipinos will receive mandatory medical checkup as an early Christmas gift as part of the Universal Healthcare Program of the Duterte administration, according the Department of Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial.

Ubial added that the DOH will conduct free checkups in the first 100 days which will mainly cater the poor Filipinos, particularly those who are included in the National Household Targetting System list of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Once an individual is found out to have an illness, the DOH will immediately give maintenance medications.

The DOH is also looking to the possibilities of putting up Super Barangay Centers to strengthen the barangay health system.
