The Philippine Fireworks Association (PFA) has released a safety guidelines on the proper usage of fireworks. DO NOT buy illegal or smuggled firecrackers like the DANGEROUS PICCOLO. Be SAFE, be SMART. Buy only QUALITY tested fireworks products that bear the PS QUALITY MARK. To all parents, please DO NOT let your children use any firecrackers, especially the banned Piccolo which is responsible for most firecracker-related injuries. 20 Million Filipinos to Receive Mandatory Checkup Before Christmas

An estimated 20 million Filipinos will receive mandatory medical checkup as an early Christmas gift as part of the Universal Healthcare Program of the Duterte administration, according the Department of Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial. Philippine Embassy in Singapore issues Zika virus advisory to Filipinos

The Ministry of Health in Singapore has confirmed a total number of 41 cases of the dreaded Zika virus infecion, particularly in the Aljunied Crescent/Sims Drive area. Due to the rising number of documented cases in Singapore, the Philippine Embassy urges Filipino Nationals to take all precautionary measures to minimize the risk of being infected with the Zikavirus. Study: Improper Use of Contact Lenses May Result to Eye Infections and Damage

A study by the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention or CDC found out that unsafe use of contact lenses may result to eye damage.  The researchers analyzed nearly 1,100 cases of eye infections related to use of contact lenses from  2005 to 2015.  According to the study, nearly 1 in 5 patients had either a scarred cornea, required a corneal transplant or had other types of eye damage because of the infection.  More than 10 percent of the patients had to go to a hospital ER or urgent care clinic for immediate treatment. FDA issues warning on Serc, Stugeron and Ketorocin-0.5

The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) issued a public warning against selected anti-vertigo drugs and an ophthalmic preparation after having been found out to be unregistered in their agency.  The FDA said that these drugs may pose health risk if taken. PDEA names 7 new dangerous drugs

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) named seven (7) new additional substances to be included on the list of dangerous drugs based on the recommendations of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNOD), Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND). The 7 new dangerous drugs are: ACETYLFENTANYL, a powerful painkiller, which is five times more potent than heroin.
